[edit] Meaning

The Carnalpedia star is a reference to a porn star, with the larger intent of the adult industry as well as sex in general.

The outer perimeter of the star is comprised of halftone dots. The dots range in size with some of the larger dots fusing together to create the star. These dots are a reference to the articles found on Carnalpedia. Like the dots, the articles on the site fuse together to build a larger picture, and, again like the dots, some of the articles are large (lengthy) in size, while others are considerably smaller.

[edit] Use

The logo was designed to be able to be use as a whole, or in pieces. For formal use or with an unfamiliar audience, the full logo with text and star is used. For designs and promotional materials the star can be used independent of the text. Though infrequent, the text only logo can also be used.

The formal logo is black in color but the logo allows for versatility. Promotional or informal use of the logo can substitute a different color, or use a gradient, pattern or other design element in its place.

[edit] Specifications

The logo is black (RGB: 0,0,0). The font used in the text is Adobe Garamond Pro Bold.
